Community Outreach Program Manager
Frida joined the Grumeti Fund in 2010. Before coming to the Serengeti she spent nine years as a Secondary School Chemistry and Biology teacher. Some of her other experiences include three years as the Head of Training and Community Empowerment (TRACE) with the Swedish Cooperative Centre- Vi Agroforest Program in Musoma and two years as Senior Program Officer with Cross Cultural Solutions, implementing sustainable community initiatives on biodiversity conservation and livelihood support projects.
Frida’s practical skills lie in natural resources management, specifically in participatory forest management, wildlife management, environmental impact assessments, capacity building and training on issues related to nature conservation and environmental friendly project design.
When Frida was growing up in Arusha it was known as the “Geneva of Africa”, due to its cool climate, abundant rain and the variety of beautiful flora and fauna. This lush environment inspired her to pursue conservation and to help conserve the natural beauty of her country.
Frida has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation from Sokoine University of Agriculture in Morogoro Tanzania. She is also working toward an MA in Natural Resources Assessment and Management at the Open Universty of Tanzania.
