Anders Povlsen

Anders Holch Povlsen is 46 years old, born and raised in the countryside of Denmark, where he lives with his family. Since 2001, Anders has been the CEO and owner of BESTSELLER A/S, a fashion company founded by his parents in 1975, now with more than 10,000 stores and business activities in 70 markets worldwide.

Furthermore, he is the chairman of HeartLand A/S, a private holding company and the chairman of The BESTSELLER Foundation, which through its positive impact investing aims to support sustainable developments.

Anders holds a Doctorate in Business and E-Commerce from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge and has a bachelors degree from the Berlin School of Economics and Law.

He is an entrepreneur, an investor, a developer, a philanthropist, a pioneering conservationist and a qualified farmer.

Outside of his main businesses, he currently holds active roles and sits on the supervisory boards of Zalando SE, The North Coast 500 Ltd, Foundation Conservation Carpathia, among other companies. He is also involved through his investment company BrightFolk A/S in a number of technology and retail businesses, as well as the African Leadership University.

Anders is a proud conservationist, a cause to which he has committed significant personal resources. In 2004, he founded an organisation, which a few years later became WildLand Ltd, with the aim of protecting and restoring endangered landscapes and areas of the natural world for future generations.

His passion for wild nature and its beauty, which he regards as our world’s most valuable asset, has led to his custodianship of remote but significant wild areas in Scotland, Romania and in Africa.
